Instructions on the Voluntary Use and Care of N95 Respirators
DemeTECH N95 Particulate Respirator (FSIS-61-10)
OVERVIEW:
This document provides instructions on the voluntary use and care of N95 respirators. Per OSHA
regulations, all employees who voluntarily wear an N95 respirator must review and sign a copy of OSHA
1910.134 (Respiratory Protection Standard) Appendix D Acknowledgement. Supervisors may ask you
to demonstrate your understanding of the inf ormation on this handout, such as your ability to properly
wear and care for the N95 respirators.
Respirators are an ef fective method of protection against designated hazards when properly selected
and worn. If a respirator is used improperly or not kept clean, the respirator itself can become a hazard
to the worker.
This respirator helps protect against certain particulate contaminants, but does not eliminate ex posure to
or the risk of contracting any disease or infection. Misuse may result in sickness or death. For proper
use, see supervisor, or User Instructions.
IMPORTANT
Bef ore use, the wearer must read and understand these User Instructions. Keep these instructions for
reference.

Otherwise, it may be stored and reused according to the facility’s infection control policy.

N95 respirators are to be inspected prior to each use to ensure it is in goodoperating condition.
