He is survived by his wife, Virginia; sons: Donald G. (Sue) Colin of Las Vegas, Nev., William P.
(Yvonne) Colin of Walkerton and Robert J. (Maureen) Colin of Carmel; stepson, L. David Seitz
of Elmwood Park, Ill.; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Visitation is Thursday, March 2 from 4 to 8 p.m. and Friday, March 3 from 10 to 10:30 a.m. at
Rannells Funeral Home, Koontz Lake Chapel. A Rosary service will be held Thursday at 7 p.m.
at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be Friday, March 3 at 11 a.m. at St. Patrick's Church, Walkerton.
Burial will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery, Walkerton, with military graveside services.

OTSEGO, Mich. - Richard “Dick” Post, age 73, of Otsego, Mich., formerly of Plymouth, passed
away Tuesday evening, Feb. 28, 2006 at Borgess Medical Center, Kalamazoo, Mich. of cancer.
He was born Jan. 19, 1933 in Plymouth, the son of the late Wayne and Helen (Shirley) Post. In
1951, Dick graduated from Plymouth High School. He immediately attended Indiana University
for a year before joining the United States Air Force in 1952. Following his Air Force service,
Dick returned to Indiana University earning his B.A. in Business and Accounting. In 1959, he
joined the United States Army, serving three tours in Vietnam, and time in San Francisco,
Washington, D.C. and all over Germany, earning the rank of Major. While in the Army, Dick also
earned his MBA from Boston University. He was a member of several service organizations
including: SMART (Special Military Active-Retired Travel) Club, where he was treasurer of the
Great Lakes Chapter. He was also a former member of the Masonic Lodge in Plymouth and a
member of the Saladin Temple in Oahu, Hawaii.
Dick loved his dogs. He raised and showed several Keeshonds and Australian Shepherds over
the years; earning the 1st Agility Title for Keeshonds in the nation, and several other
championships. He was a very active member and building manager of the Kalamazoo Kennel
Club. Dick was also on the board of directors for KCC and several years with the Third Leg
(obedience) Club. He loved camping and traveling. On Nov. 4, 1994, he was united in marriage
to Charlotte Richards, who survives. Also surviving are two children, Deborah (Jim) Trahey of
West Bloomfield, Mich. and their children, Reese and Rory, and Douglas (Dawn Chamberlain)
Post of Portage, Mich. and their children, Ely and Logan; and one brother, Terry Post of
Nashville, Tenn.
Services for Mr. Post will be at 11 a.m. on Monday, March 13, at St. Luke's Episcopal Church,
247 W. Lovell, Mich. There will be no visitation. Interment will follow at 2 p.m. in Ft. Custer
National Cemetery, Augusta, Mich. As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may
