UK Police endorsed Lost Property Reporting
The new way to report lost property

An easy-to-use
online system
For instructions
on how to use
the “Report My
Loss” system
please see
reverse of this
leaflet.
In addition you will also get a loss reference number and
report certificate straight away that can be used with your
insurer. The information will be viewed nationally by the police
rather than by just your local force.
The information will also be circulated to the second-hand
trade, stolen and lost property database (CheckMEND)
making it difficult for the item to be sold to any second-hand
retailer or through any online auction site. This also greatly
increases the chances of your property being returned.
YOUR PERSONAL DETAILS ARE NOT DISCLOSED
Immobilise.com
Having lost an item of property you may have wished
you had its details recorded somewhere to help the police
identify it if its recovered. You can do this, free of charge
at www.immobilise.com – the home of the UK National
Property Register.
CheckMEND.org
Don’t forget, before buying second-hand goods, you
can make sure they are not stolen or lost by performing a
check on CheckMEND.org, the only system that searches
the UK’s largest database of stolen goods and blocked
mobile phones.
Most police forces will take reports of lost property. However
this can be a long process involving a trip to the police station
or a long phone call. You can now report lost property online
at www.reportmyloss.com making the process easier
and quicker.
