The Memphis Area Transit Authority (MATA) is the public transportation
provider for the Memphis area. As one of the largest transit operators in
t
he state of Tennessee, MATA transports customers in the City of Memphis
and parts of Shelby County on xed-route buses, paratransit vehicles

To use MATAplus paratransit service, customers must rst receive
certication to ride. To complete an application, call 901.322.4080 or TTY
(901.523.2817) from 8am - 5pm, Monday - Friday. Once approved, customers
will receive information on how to make reservations, fares, etc.
PLAN YOUR TRIP
Before traveling to your destination, visit matatransit.com for bus
and trolley schedules, or plan your trip using the MATA Trip Planner
that is located on the front page of the website. Transit
schedules are also available at the three MATA Transit Centers. To
help you plan or navigate your trip while in transit, please call MATA

GET THERE EARLY
Please arrive at your bus or trolley stop at least 10 minutes early, and
stay visible by the curb as the MATA vehicle approaches.
HAVE YOUR FARE READY
Please have the exact fare ready to deposit into the fare box.
FastPasses are available to avoid the hassle of cash fares and to
help you save money on multiple rides. FastPasses can be
purchased at any of the three MATA Transit Centers in one-day or
seven-day increments. Only one-day FastPasses can be purchased
from operators while on board, and new passes will need to be
activated the first time they are used and scanned for every ride
after the first time.
GO901 MOBILE APP
Customers who download the GO901 app to their smartphone (available
in the Google Play and Apple Stores) can purchase standard fare
tickets, all day passes, check account balances and more. Once tickets
are purchased via the GO901 mobile app, customers will receive a code
directly on their smartphone that can be scanned at the entrance to
every bus or trolley. For more information, visit go901transit.com (the

COVID-19 Safety Protocols
Passengers are asked to wear a mask or face covering on board
MATA vehicles and at the Transit Centers to help stop the spread of
COVID-19. In addition, social distancing is being enforced on board
vehicles and at the Transit Centers.
EXITING
To request a stop, pull the cord above your seat or by a window.
After exiting, step
on the curb side of the bus or Trolley. Do not cross
in front of it unless it is stopped at a red light.
