SOUTHWEST ANNOUNCES NONSTOP FLIGHTS FROM MKE TO SAN DIEGO
MILWAUKEE (October 27, 2023) –Southwest Airlines will add nonstop service
between Milwaukee Mitchell International Airport (MKE) and San Diego International
Airport (SAN) next summer. The flights will operate every Saturday beginning June 8,
2024 on full-size Boeing 737-700 aircraft.
“We know that there is strong demand to southern California, and these new flights will
make it easy to enjoy the west coast nonstop from MKE,” Airport Director Brian Dranzik
said. “We are happy to see that Southwest is expanding its flight offerings from MKE.
Milwaukee travelers utilizing these flights will help ensure that this service will continue
to be offered.”
In Southwest’s June 4, 2024 through August 4, 2024 schedule extension, the airline will
also offer increased weekday service from Milwaukee to Atlanta, Denver, Las Vegas,
and Phoenix, compared to summer 2023.
Today’s announcement is the latest in a series of recent Southwest Airlines air service
additions at MKE:
• In July, Southwest launched daily nonstops between MKE and Kansas City.
• Southwest’s 2024 spring break schedule features increased weekday service to
Denver, Fort Lauderdale, Nashville, Orlando, Fort Myers, and Tampa.
• Weekend nonstops to Cancun and Sarasota will run on Saturdays and Sundays
in March and April.
Southwest is MKE’s largest carrier and offers two free checked bags, no change fees,
and no seat assignment fees. Flights are available for booking at Southwest.com or on
the Southwest Airlines mobile app.
Milwaukee Mitchell International Airport offers nonstop flights to 30+ destinations coast-to-coast, and
more than 200 international destinations are available with one easy connection. MKE is served by
Alaska, American, Delta, Frontier, JetBlue, Southwest, Spirit, Sun Country, and United. The complete list
