Tables Outdoor
Stone is a Natural Material
As with any stone product, there are a few special points to
consider.
Natural characteristics in stone cause variations in hues, veins,
crystals, and distinctive marks.
These variations and subtle changes seen as the stone ages are
values associated with natural materials.
Each tabletop is hand craed. No tabletops are identical, just as
no stone pieces are the same.
Variations in both color and veining are to be expected.
The marble, granite, and slate used on our products are
inherently strong and stable.
Stone is a natural material that will age, adding character to the
product.
Over time the stone may fade in color, staining of the surface
may appear, and surface cracks—if not already visible at time
of purchase—may appear. Small cracks do not aect the
structure of the tabletop.
Stone Tabletop
Products using stone for outdoor furniture tabletops of
marble, granite, and slate include Eames Tables Outdoor,
Eames Wire Base Low Table Outdoor, and Nelson™ Pedestal
Table Outdoor.
Normal Cleaning
Rinse the tabletop with warm water to remove surface dirt
and wipe dry with a clean, so cloth for routine maintenance.
Wash with a so cloth and a mixture of a mild detergent
and warm water.
Rinse with warm water, and wipe dry with a clean, so cloth.
Do not use abrasive, acid, alcohol-based, or solvent-based
cleaners; they will damage the surface.

Wipe up immediately using a clean, so cloth.

Do not use abrasive, acid, alcohol-based, or solvent-based

Ultraviolet (UV) and Fading
We recommend that when not in use your Herman Miller stone
tabletop be placed away from the sun or appropriately covered.
UV light can be a cause of outside environmental damage and
fading to your stone tabletop.
Over time, stone tops will fade in direct sunlight.
Stone Resealing
To check if your stone tabletop requires resealing, pour a small
amount of water onto the table.
If the water still beads, resealing is not necessary.
If beading does not occur, we recommend a natural stone
sealer (available at hardware and home improvement stores) to
rejuvenate a faded stone tabletop.
Storage
If you choose to cover your stone table, be sure to remove the
cover when the weather is warm or humid to reduce the chance of
mold and mildew growth.
Do not keep your stone table out of doors below 40° Fahrenheit
(5° Celsius) as the stone may be compromised.
High Pressure Laminate (HPL) Tabletop
Normal Cleaning
Wash the laminate with a so cloth and a solution of mild
detergent and warm water.
Rinse thoroughly and dry with a clean so cloth.
For minor repair of burns or other stubborn marks, apply a
nonabrasive liquid kitchen cleanser with a so cloth soaked in
warm water.
Rub in the direction of the grain; use caution to avoid damaging
the surface texture or gloss.
If no grain direction is visible, rub with a light, circular motion.
Do not use powdered abrasives or other harsh cleansers like
hypochlorite bleach, hydrogen peroxide, nitric or hydrochloric
acids, or lye; they may deface the surface and change the nish
color.
