eLearning through Coursera.org and EdX.org
Purpose
In an effort to provide MCG staff with a wide range of learning opportunities, we have looked for on-line learning programs provided by
well-respected institutions, for all levels of learners, in diverse professional capacities, provided free or at a low cost. Two programs
recommended to us include Coursera.org and EdX.org.
These self-paced courses are provided through top universities in the country, and include topics of interest to staff throughout most
departments across the County. Individual courses as well as certificate programs and college credit are available.

You can explore lectures and non-graded material for free, Prices shown reflect the cost for the complete course experience, including
graded assignments and certificates. Financial aid is available for learners who qualify.
edX.org
Offers most courses free of charge, and will provide you a certificate signed by the instructor for a small fee.
Additional Information
Maintain a Record of your Completed Training in OLM
You may maintain a record of completed courses from outside sources in OLM. This record, as with your OLM in-house training
record, is available to your Supervisor, and may assist your career development by providing a more comprehensive record of the
professional development programs you have completed. Although not required, you may also attach any certificate of completion or
other documentation by having a scanned copy available when you are creating the External Learning Record
