NATIONALS PARK SAFETY TIPS
WHAT TO EXPECT:
Prior to entering the ballpark, guests will first have their bags checked, just like past seasons.
Guests will then be screened with a metal detector. If the device detects metal on a guest, there will
be a secondary screening with a handheld device.
After clearing the bag check and walking through a metal detector, guests will then scan their ticket
at a turnstile to enter the ballpark.
TIPS FOR 2015:
All guests must pass through a form of metal detection to enter the ballpark.
Metal detectors have been installed in front of all gates around the ballpark excluding Third Base
Gate and First Base ADA Gate. Game attendees entering through these specific gates will be screened
by attendants using hand wands.
Gates will continue to open two and a half hours in advance of game times.
Fans should arrive early to Nationals Park to allow enough time to adjust to the ballpark’s new
security protocols.
Under MLB guidelines, attendees carrying bags larger than 16”x16”x8” will not be admitted into the
ballpark. All guests will be subject to bag searches.
To avoid problems or confusion, the Nationals recommend fans reduce the items they bring to the
ballpark.
Season Plan Holders will have designated entry lanes at Center Field, Right Field, Left Field and Home
Plate Gates. All guests must have their Season Plan Holder card to enter.
These safety policies will remain consecutive for all events held at Nationals Park.
NON-PERMITTED ITEMS:
Guests with restricted items will be instructed to return items to their vehicle.

larger than one liter, juice boxes, insulin containers and baby food). Only one bottle of water per
