PERSONAL STATEMENT GUIDE

Most graduate coursework programs at the Melbourne School of Design (MSD) will

require you to submit a personal statement (see individual course requirements for

more information).

Your personal statement should be no more than 500 words, and address the

following questions:

• What is your understanding of the program?

• Why do you want to study this program?

• How do you think this program will help you achieve your career aspirations?

You may wish to:

• Provide examples from your prior study and/or work experience

• Include images and details of work you have undertaken

If including examples, please clearly state your roles and responsibilities in the specic

project/task.

The MSD Selection Committee will also expect that your personal statement is:

• Clear and concise

• Written in English with no grammatical or spelling errors

• Well-structured and considered

NOTE:

Any personal statement found to contain plagiarised content

will result in disqualication from course assessment.
