Applicants much be currently enrolled full-time in MD4 and commencing their final year of study in 2017;
Applications are open to FF, CSP and international students.
Applications
The application consists of a completed application form and a personal statement of 400 words (or fewer)
addressing the following:
How the prize will benefit the applicant’s life and studies;
What the applicant intends to do following the completion of their medical degree and
how this will benefit the community;
How the prize will enable the applicants to undertake activities otherwise made
difficult without this financial support.
Applicants will be shortlisted on the basis of academic record and their written application. A selection committee
will then choose the successful applicant from those shortlisted. Preference may be given to those applicants who
can demonstrate financial need.
The successful applicant may be required to produce a brief report at the end of their final year of study that details
how the scholarship has enhanced their final year of study and their intentions following graduation.

Submission should include a MMS prize cover letter and 400-word statement in PDF format.
The successful applicant may be required to produce a brief report at the end of their studies that details how the

JUNE HOWQUA PRIZE 2017
Open to MD Year 4 students only
Applications are invited for the June Howqua Prize for 2017. Established by the late Dr June Howqua, this prize is
awarded to the most promising student enrolled in the final year of the Doctor of Medicine (MD) in 2017.
A prize of $5,428* will be awarded to the successful applicant.
