FIRST Alumni Engineering Scholarship Application
Five $1000 scholarships are available to students who have participated in the FIRST Robotics
program (FRC or FTC) for at least one full season during high school and have applied to UAA’s
College of Engineering. This scholarship is renewable for up to 3 additional years, if students
maintain a GPA of at least 2.5, and remain enrolled as full-time students within the UAA College
of Engineering.
Student Eligibility
• Have participated in at least one full season of FIRST Tech Challenge or FIRST Robotics
Competition (preference given to new incoming students)
• Have applied to UAA, designating the College of Engineering
• Have a minimum cumulative high school GPA of 3.0 or equivalent; transfer students must
have minimum college GPA of 2.5
• Minimum ACT Math and composite score of 24 or SAT score (combined Math and Critical
Reading only) of 1040
• Preference given to students who have completed Pre-Calculus or equivalent in high school

• Resume which includes a list of school and extracurricular activities, self-
reported ACT or SAT Test scores, cumulative weighted and unweighted high
school GPA (Resume form available at UAA College of Engineering Scholarship page)
• Transcript including grades and GPA through first semester of senior year of high school
• Essay: What are your academic and career goals? How has FIRST impacted your personal
and professional growth? (500 words max)
• Participation Confirmation Letter: This letter should be written by an adult team advisor
who oversaw your team, confirming the dates of your participation in FIRST Robotics.
